Übersicht

Hooomly Essentials is a concept e-commerce app I designed end-to-end during my UX/UI certification at ITCareerHub Berlin. The brief: design an MVP mobile store that could compete with major players like Amazon or Zalando on a tight budget and timeline — by finding a narrow, defensible niche instead of competing on catalog size.

Herausforderung

No dev team, no budget, three weeks — and a made-up brand. Since Hooomly isn't real, validating actual demand mattered more than polishing pixels, so demand-checking came before any screen was drawn.

Mein Ansatz

Solo, end-to-end, research-first. Competitive analysis of Amazon Subscribe & Save, one core persona, user flows, and a clickable prototype — no team to divide the work with.

Problem

Families reorder the same essentials on a loop — and always notice too late. Existing subscription tools like Amazon's exist, but research in parenting communities showed that people find them confusing and quietly abandon them.

Designlösung

MVP built around one flow: Regular Orders. Onboarding through Checkout follow a "set once, forget it" logic, with Regular Orders as the screen that does the actual job of the product.

Auswirkungen

The instructor validated the core hypothesis as strong and testable. The honest gap: this only becomes a real business with its own inventory or supplier partnerships — the obvious next step if it went further than a course.
